The Greater Mullins Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet was held this year on Monday, February 1 at Marion County Technical Education Center. This is a special event held at the beginning of each year thanking local businesses, industries and individuals for helping the chamber continue to move forward each year.
During the banquet, awards are presented to retiring board of directors and new board directors are introduced and recognized for their dedication in serving the chamber for three consecutive years.
A yearly tradition also includes presenting Community Service Award ( which are chosen by winners of the two consecutive years) and Business of the Year Award (chosen by the chamber board of directors). Mr. Keith Herring accepted the Community Service Award on behalf of the Beacon Light Ministries' Soup Kitchen and Florence-Darlington Technical College was awarded the Business of the Year. After Dr. Charles Gould, of FDTC, accepted the award he was also the guest speaker and did a tremendous job detailing the school's mission in the Pee and specifically in Mullins and Marion County.
The catering by the culinary students at MCTEC is always commended by those attending this special event.
A catered meal, great speaker and the announcement of awards at the annual Chamber Banquet.
