Economic Development

Marion County Economic Outlook Luncheons are held in June and presented by the Mullins and Marion Chambers of Commerce along with Marion County Progress, Inc.

The annual lunch is informative to what is happening with industry in the area and the possibilities of new industry coming to the area.  Anyone with interest in the future of the county will certainly want to attend this meeting. There is a fee for attendance but lunch is served.  The venue has been moved to different locations.  Check the calender or contact the chamber office for more information.  At one of the recent Outlook luncheons Steve Mount, which is the site manager of ArvinMeritor, stated, “I believe that success begins and ends with the people on your team. Some people believe that the quality of the processes you put in place in your business determines whether or not you will be successful. I agree that effective processes are very important; but it takes great people to establish great processes. Great people put great processes in place; then they execute and continuously improve those processes every day. I believe our workforce at ArvinMeritor Mullins—our team—wants to succeed. I am grateful for them every day.”

This sentiment couldn't be more true of our county as well.  We must believe in the people of our county and we must support each other to strengthen our economy.
